I would normally put something like this in my scraps, but the scraps don't get no love! :giggle: But, really, my gallery desperately needed something new in it. I'll move this to scraps once I have a finished version.

After a long time of not drawing, I am trying to test out my drawing chops. Used a pic of Goran Visnjic for reference....not really a drawing of him cause it doesn't look like him AT ALL...lol. I am trying to push my pencil skills to the next level. It's getting there, I'm fairly close to achieving what I want with this. Just have some more tweaking and shading to do.

Hints, tips, crits, suggestions and all other luvins welcome. :D

Very well done! Can't wait to see the final. Only hint I can really give is wrap the edges in a darker shade. This will help round the face into the scene.

Oh, thank you so much! I really appreciate it coming from such a pencil wizard like yourself. :D Thanks for the tip, I'll do that once it's closer to being finished.

The expression is great! Nice shading so far, I look forward to seeing the finished result! :)

I suck at realistic pencilling ... (strikes proud cartoonist pose)
This is really good ... something about the tightness of his lips reminds me of Orlando Bloom ... maybe just because I was watching Pirates of the Caribbean last night, tho ;)

hehe, well we all have our styles. When I started drawing, it was in cartoon style, and over the years what I wanted to see in my art slowly evolved into this. Maybe cause I'm turning into an old fuddy-duddy? ;p

That's funny, I've just seen two really nice realistic drawing of Orlando in the past two days ago...no influence, though. :giggle: Thanks hon, I've been studying the heck out of that picture trying how to figure out how to represent it.

That looks so realistic. Very well done. I think you have talent for portraits.
I will like to see the final. Keep working on it, you're going well!

They're both amazing! Completely different styles. I saw this one earlier, but I commented on the other because it's so unlike my style (this picture is closer to it). Like I said, awesome and keep it up!

Oops, sorry....I thought I uploaded it after you commented. But, thank you, I really appreciate the encouragement.

That drawing was done 3 years ago when I was just beginning to transition from my cartoon style into drawing more realisticly. First time I really went all out with my shading, and blah blah....you really didn't ask, did you? :lmao:
